New Journal Content Added to Project MUSE

Project MUSE has been expanding in recent months to bring you even more reliable, scholarly journals. Twenty-eight journals have been added to the collection over the past year, including:

New and Updated Credo Reference Content Available

Credo Reference recently added several new titles, making their already expansive collection of encyclopedias, dictionaries, and other resources, even more helpful. The new additions cover areas including History, Language, Science, and Technology, and increases the size of the Credo Reference collection to 644 books. The new titles are:

Over the past few months twenty-eight new and updated dictionaries, encyclopedias, and other books have been added to the Credo Reference collection, bringing the total number of titles to 631. New JSTOR Journal Collections Available

Kistler Memorial Library has added two new collections to our JSTOR subscriptions. Arts & Sciences VI and X will provide you with full online access all the way back to the first issues of nearly 300 scholarly journals in the fields of Business & Management, Education, Political Science, Sociology, Economics, Law, Women's Studies, and more. Notable titles added include  Academy of Management Perspectives, Berkeley Journal of Sociology, Business Ethics Quarterly, Foreign Affairs, Human Rights, Journal of Business Ethics, Middle East Journal, MIR: Management International Review, NWSA Journal, Phi Delta Kappan, and The Reading Teacher.

JSTOR is a not-for-profit service dedicated to preserving and providing researchers with access to scholarly information through its archival collections of academic journals covering a broad range of disciplines in the humanities and social sciences.

Credo Reference Adds New Titles to Collection

Over the summer, electronic information provider Credo Reference added twenty-four new and updated encyclopedias and other reference works to its General Reference collection, bringing the total number of titles to over 600. Interlibrary Loan Forms Now Available Online

The forms for requesting books and articles from other libraries through Interlibrary Loan can now be filled out right on our homepage. Just click on the Interlibrary Loan link on the left side of the Library's homepage, and select the request form for books or journal articles. We will find libraries that have the items you need and have copies sent to us. When your materials arrive at the Library, you will be notified through your Rosemont email address. New in the Library: Archives Unbound

A new resource is available on the Library's Electronic Databases page. Archives Unbound presents topically-focused digital collections of historical documents that support the research and study needs of scholars and students at the college and university level. Collections in Archives Unbound cover a broad range of topics from the Middle Ages forward-from Witchcraft to World War II to twentieth-century political history. Collections are chosen for Archives Unbound based on requests from scholars, archivists, and students. Kistler Library's collections include The Southern Literary Messenger: Literature of the Old South and The War Department and Indian Affairs, 1800-1824.

New Research Guide: Careers and Majors

Trying to decide on a major? Thinking about the future? Have a career in mind, but no clue what you need to do to get there? The Library has a research guide that can help: Careers and Majors!

The Careers and Majors guide identifies resources on campus, on the web, and in the library that are designed to help students find their way through these important decisions. Browse through to find quizzes that will help you determine what major is right for you, information on what sorts of careers are available to graduates by major, and information on what academic course of study is generally required for different types of careers. The guide also points out places on campus where you can go for more information and help.

Your librarians have been working to build research guides like this one for the Rosemont community, and will continue to develop more in the future. Check the Research Guides section (under Online Resources) of the Library website for a complete listing of available guides.

WilsonWeb Databases now Available on EBSCOhost

In the wake of last year's acquisition of the H.W. Wilson Company by rival EBSCO Publishing, the popular WilsonWeb database platform was recently eliminated. The Wilson databases to which the library subscribes, the OmniFile Full Text Mega and Art Full Text, are still available and are now searchable on EBSCO's platform, EBSCOhost. If you should need any assistance using the new interface, please contact a reference librarian at reference@rosemont.edu.

New in the Library: Orlando: Women's Writing

The Library has begun a subscription to Orlando: Women's Writing in the British Isles from the Beginnings to the Present. Orlando is an online reference source that provides information on the life and writing of 1275 authors from Sappho to J.K. Rowling and beyond. Despite the title, related information on many influential men and non-British women is included. The entries are extensively cross-referenced to allow researchers to follow connections between authors, such as influences, associations, places, and organizations, facilitating research on the full history of British women's writing. The project takes its name and inspiration from Virginia Woolf's 1928 novel Orlando: A Biography. To find Orlando: Women's Writing in the British Isles on the Library's home page, click on Online Resources, and then Electronic Databases.

Changes to Online Resources on the Library Website

The Library website has been undergoing some changes. In the left-hand links sidebar from any library page, you can now find all of the electronic resources the library offers under Online Resources. These resources are divided into three pages:

• Electronic Databases: Formerly the Online Resources page, this page lists all the subscriber-only databases to which Rosemont has purchased access.
• Websites By Subject: This page, containing free web resources that come highly recommended by the academic community, has been moved to a sub-page of the Online Resources page.
• Research Guides: Still under construction, this page will contain specially-designed guides to Rosemont resources on a variety of subjects, created by Rosemont College librarians.

The Library website will continue to change and improve in the near future. Make sure you keep checking back to find out what’s new!

NetLibrary is now eBooks on EBSCOhost

NetLibrary, an electronic book service which many of you may have used in the past, has been acquired by EBSCO Publishing. The new owners have moved the NetLibrary catalog over to their popular EBSCOhost platform under the new name eBooks on EBSCOhost. All the great content that you are used to is still available with a new, easy to use interface.

Through eBooks on EBSCOhost, we are able to provide access to electronic versions of nearly 1000 books published from 2002-2010, primarily in the fields of Business, Education, and Psychology. The full text of these books can be read 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can also create a free account to keep track of the books you've read and to take notes on what you are reading. If you previously had a NetLibrary account your favorites and notes were not carried over to the new platform. You will have to create a new account to save information in eBooks on EBSCOhost.

Cambridge University Press is providing free access to all articles published in Cambridge journals in 2009 and 2010 for six weeks, from July 15 to August 30, 2011. Cambridge University Press publishes journals in a wide range of disciplines. To access the journals visit journals.cambridge.org, or follow these links to browse Cambridge journals by subject or by title.

New in the Library: Credo Reference
